Getting started
The app, downloads and finding your first Grab.
Is Grabit free?
Yes. Grabit is free for everyone.
Where can I download Grabit?
Grabit is available for Android on Google Play. The iOS app is coming soon.
Get Grabit on Google PlayWhat can I find on Grabit?
Freebies, discounts, 2-for-1 offers, Perks and useful local finds. Businesses drop Grabs, while people nearby share Community Spots. It could be a coffee on the house, a last-minute appointment or a giveaway you’d otherwise walk past.
Why do I need a Grabit account?
Your account keeps your saved Grabs, follows, messages and redemptions together. Sign in when asked to use these features or share a Community Spot of your own.
How do I find something near me?
Explore the Map or browse the Grabs list. Open anything that catches your eye to check its location, terms, availability and time left. The coloured categories help you spot the kind of offer you want.
Why aren’t there many Grabs in my area yet?
Grabit fills up as local businesses and people start posting. You’ll only see finds that have been shared in that area. Try looking around another area on the Map, and share a useful Community Spot if you find one.
Grabs & codes
Finding an offer, checking it and redeeming it.
What do Free, Discount, 2-for-1 and Perks mean?
Free is something on the house. Discount is a reduced price. 2-for-1 gives you two for the price of one. Perks add a little extra, such as a free dessert with your main. Each Grab explains its own terms and any conditions.
How do I use a Grab?
Open the Grab and read its terms and how-to-redeem instructions. Tap Grabit to get a code when one is required. When you arrive, show the live QR code for staff to scan, or give them the manual code. Some Grabs don’t need a code, so follow the instructions on that offer.
Does saving or grabbing an offer reserve it?
No. Saving a Grab, getting a code or setting a reminder does not reserve stock, an appointment, a table or a room. Availability can change. Check the terms and contact the business if you need to confirm something before travelling.
What does Go Grabit do?
Go Grabit opens directions to the location. It helps you get there; it doesn’t make a booking or reserve the offer.
My code has expired or won’t scan. What should I do?
Open the Grab in the app and check whether the offer is still live and the code has already been redeemed. Use a current live code rather than an old screenshot. If scanning fails, staff can try the manual code. Ask the business for help if the issue continues.
What is a High Five?
A quick way to show you like a Grab or a Now. A High Five doesn’t claim an offer, generate a redemption code or reserve anything.
Feed, Nows & Spots
See what’s happening and keep in touch.
What’s a Community Spot?
A useful find shared by someone nearby. Think free drinks being handed out in the city centre, samples outside a shop or something worth telling other people about. A Spot is a tip from the community, so its availability can change quickly.
What if a Community Spot is already gone?
Use the Spot’s availability feedback to tell other people whether it’s still there or looks gone. Report it if it’s misleading or inappropriate. Community finds can disappear before everyone reaches them.
What is the Feed for?
The Feed brings together local updates, photos and videos. Follow businesses you like, catch up in Following, or discover posts in Nearby and Trending. You can react, comment, save or share, and open a linked Grab from a post.
What is a Now?
A Now is a business’s photo or short video update that disappears after 24 hours, similar to a Story on Instagram or Facebook. It can show what’s happening today and link to a live Grab, so you can go from seeing it to checking the offer.
Can I message a business before visiting?
Yes. Use Message on a Grab or business profile to ask about an offer, availability or the business’s services. You can keep the conversation in Grabit rather than hunting for contact details elsewhere.
For businesses
Post, reach people, redeem and learn.
What can my business use for free?
Your business profile, Grab posting, Nows, Feed, direct customer messaging, QR redemption, customer feedback and performance insights. You don’t need to buy credits to get started. Your dashboard shows the current posting limits.
Explore Grabit for businessWhat are credits, and do I have to buy them?
Credits are for optional extras such as Boosts and Spotlight. You choose whether to buy them and when to use them. Current options, prices and any plan allowances are shown in your business dashboard.
Do Grabs go live instantly?
When you publish a Grab to start now, it can appear straight away for nearby people to discover. If you set a future start time, it is scheduled for then. Use clear photos, dates and terms so people know exactly what you’re offering.
Can I use Grabit for a last-minute cancellation?
Yes. A cancelled appointment, a spare table, a room for tonight or stock you want people to know about can all be reasons to drop a Grab. Explain what’s available, when it ends and how customers should redeem or contact you.
How will people discover my business?
People can discover your Grabs on the Map and in the Grabs list, visit your business profile, and follow your Feed and Nows. Optional promotional tools such as Boosts and Spotlight can give you extra reach when you choose to use them.
Can I see how each Grab performs?
Yes. Your dashboard shows activity such as views, claims and confirmed redemptions for your Grabs. Use those insights alongside customer feedback to compare offers and learn what gets a response.
How do I get feedback from customers?
Grabit prompts customers for feedback after a redemption. Confirm redemptions in the app so that visits are recorded, then use the feedback to understand what customers liked and where you could improve.
Does Grabit support loyalty and reward cards?
Yes. Businesses can create loyalty and reward cards to give customers a reason to return. Each card sets out how progress is earned and what the reward is, so customers should check that card’s conditions.
What does a verified business badge mean?
It means Grabit has carried out checks on the business’s identity. It isn’t a guarantee of an offer’s availability or the quality of a product or service. Always read the individual Grab’s details.
